  • Mostly idiopathic, rarely due to B cell lymphoma or chronic lymphocytic leukemia
  • Fibrillary glomerulonephritis and immunotactoid glomerulonephritis are very similar but have some differences with electron microscopy
  • In fibrillary glomerulonephritis the fibrils are smaller and more randomly distributed than in immunotactoid glomerulonephritis
