  • (50% p’ts) 15-25th year, fluctuating plasma sugar may be low due to insulin retention and renal gluconeogenesis ↓ (despite insulin resistance)
  • DM and ESRD are systemic dis.
  • Microangiopathy (retinopathy, neuropathy, hyperlipidemia), macroangiopathy (cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis), foot ulcer
  • Morbidity & mortality are much higher than other ESRD
  • Renal transplantation (RT)
