• “Point of no return” beyond this stage
• Urinary albumin excretion=30-300 mg/day=30-300 mg/g creatinine
• ≥ 2/3 (+) within 3~6 months
• Predicts CKD, CV disease and mortality
• False-positive
  • Exercise, infection, fever, CHF, marked hyperglycemia, marked hypertension
• Treatment
  • ACEI or ARB
  • Strict euglycemia
  • Keep BP<130/80 mmHg
